We’ve seen light at end of the tunnel – ASUU

In the protracted conflict between university lecturers and the Federal Government, the Academic Staff Union of Universities has commended the House of Representatives for its intervention.Prof Emmanuel Osodeke, President of ASUU, said, “For the first time, we have seen the light. ASUU leader Femi Gbajabiamila, who briefed the ASUU leadership on his meetings with President Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) over the crisis, expects the strike to be called off “within a few days.

There had been speculation that the union would call off its eight-month strike.Femi Falana, counsel for ASUU, announced on Monday that his clients were ready to end the strike.

Additionally, the Senior Advocate of Nigeria urged the Federal Government to expedite and finalize its negotiations with ASUU in a message to our correspondent.

Femi Gbajabiamila’s meeting with the presidency over the matter will yield positive outcomes, he stated.

In response to inquiries about the ASUU strike, Falana said, “Our clients are ready to end the strike.” It is important for the Federal Government to expedite and finalize the negotiations”.
